35 people, 5 houses, 1 wedding... then a week of tranquility

Trial by Fire
When the cooking group met the Italian group in January of 2006, the enthusiasm for a week in Italy - in the hills, far away, cooking, laughing, drinking copious amounts of champagne and vino - was strong. Strong enough that people put aside time and money a year in advance to plan a big adventure.

What began as a house for the Forking Delicious girls and a house for L'italiani Bravi became a five house melange of Cooking Group, Italian Group, friends and family of each. But truly, the more the merrier, right?

We planned 3 local events to bring everyone together... to share information, answer questions, and make people feel less than strangers on this big adventure. Almost one year later, we met on a hillside in Umbria for an adventure that culminated in a wedding.

Although Forking Delicious had originally planned to do the cooking and throw Donna a kicka** Italian wedding, over the year that sentiment changed as people focused more on the vacation idea. No matter... there were enough Italians who love a festa that would help to make Donna's day special.

Hat's off to Amore Sapore for catering... to Lorenzo Sassolini for officiating at the service... to Stefano for donating fresh passion flower vine... and for Renee's friends Gina and Pam, professional florists who came to help decorate. The table was splendid and the wedding was a beautiful thing.
